‘SHOULD I START A BLOG?’ – HERE ARE 10 REASONS TO DO SO

If you are conflicted about whether you should enter the blogging world or not, here are 10 reasons why you should start a blog ↓

1. YOU CAN BE FINANCIALLY FREE

Blogging is a profitable business. There are many different ways to monetize it and earn a good income from it.

“Blogs can make up to $100 per page view” – Statistics

YES! IT’S TRUE

Blogging is still one of the most profitable online businesses out there and you can earn up to 1,000$ – 5,000$ per month with a successful blog.

Sure, you’ll need a strategy for it, but if you do everything correctly with a clear goal and mindset, then you can make this 100% possible.

It takes time to build a blog—months or even a couple of years—but once you have a well-established blog, you’ll earn financial freedom through blogging.

2. YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT

Passion is important for anything you want to do in your life. The same goes with blogging too.

Blogging requires hard work, patience, and passion. If you’re not passionate about it then maybe you’ll end up burning out.

After seeing someone else’s blog, if it ignites the passion inside you to do the same, then you should go for it.

Chasing your passion is all that matters 🙂

3. PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS

Did you know that there are approx. 8 billion Google searches per day?

This number is humongous! Here’s one more fact: 18% of internet users read blogs every day!

So we can say that people are continuously looking for solutions to their problems and one way to provide solutions is to write informational, helpful blog posts.

If your blog helps people then it’s a solid reason to start one.

4. YOU CAN GAIN KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Blogging is a technical career, which means before you start one, you’ll need to learn a lot of technical, marketing, and design skills.

It’s always good to gain more and more knowledge/skills from wherever you can and blogging is one of them.

You can use these skills in your resume too and build a career out of it.

You may not be very good at the beginning but as time passes by, you’ll improve and sharpen your skills.

5. YOU LOVE TO WRITE

One thing about blogging, you’ll need to write a lot. Like a lot.

If you are someone who loves to write and share your thoughts with others, then blogging is one of the best choices for you.

People who like to read blog posts to gain knowledge are more likely to prefer to read human-written content.

In this age of the internet, many creators write using AI which, I agree, is faster but as a reader, I would prefer more human-written content over AI-written content.

So, if writing is something that excites you then this is another solid reason for you to start a blog.

6. YOU DON’T WANT TO WORK UNDER SOMEONE ELSE

Many people don’t like to work under someone else, including me. I entered the corporate world and immediately knew that, nope, this wasn’t for me. I’m out.

Maybe some of you feel like that too because I always wanted to work independently. Something of my own.

Blogging was perfect for me, and that’s why I chose to do it.

“Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs “

This quote stuck with me ever since I read it.

Blogging helps you create something of your own, independently.

7. YOU CAN BUILD YOUR BRAND

Your blog is your brand. It’s unique and only belongs to you. It’s something that you created, all by yourself.

As I’ve said before, blogging is also a business and it requires creating a brand of your own.

You have to brand your blog too such as creating a logo, building a professional website, promoting on social media, and all the other things which include branding.

You can create a portfolio of your blog and take sponsorships too.

That’s amazing.

8. ANYONE CAN DO IT

Anyone can start a blog. That’s the beauty of it.

You don’t need an expert degree or a diploma to start a blog. You learn most of the blogging skills along the way.

Sure, there are some things that you have to learn before starting a blog such as the basics of website designing, researching about the niche, understanding some marketing basics, etc. but it’s fairly simple to do it.

Many bloggers didn’t know anything about email marketing, social media promotion, SEO, etc. but as time passed by, they learned everything slowly.

So, don’t be afraid of starting a blog just because you have no expertise in it. Just start and you’ll learn everything along the way.

9. YOU CAN BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY

Blogging can help you build your community too.

You can create Facebook groups, a Reddit community, a course and create a group of students, and much more.

Even if you start an e-commerce business, your blog/website will be your community hub for your customers where they can contact you and buy your products.

Isn’t it interesting?

Blogging Is much more than writing blog posts. You can do so many things and that’s why it’s a thriving business.

So, if you want to create a community then blogging is perfect for you to get started.

10. INCREASES PERSONAL GROWTH AND CONFIDENCE

‘But how does blogging affect personal growth and confidence?’

I was confused about this too when I heard (or read) other bloggers say this. I get you. Here’s how:

Blogging involves expressing your thoughts, ideas, or experiences to others which helps you understand yourself better and have a clear vision of your thoughts.

Writing blog posts also improves your reading and writing skills which is a part of personal growth.

You learn a lot of things throughout your blogging journey. You make mistakes and learn from them. Hence, it improves personal growth.

You also have to design many things such as graphics, websites, products, courses, videos, etc., making you a creative person.

YOU SHOULDN’T START A BLOG IF….

So far, we have discussed most of the reasons for the thought ‘Should I start a blog?’ that has been lurking in your mind.

But there are some other things to consider too before starting a blog. Following are some of the points on why you shouldn’t start a blog ↓

You shouldn’t start a blog when

1. YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUICK MONEY

Blogging isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes many months to build a blog’s foundation, and then the monetization process begins.

There is a chance you won’t even make a single penny in your first year of blogging. Some people start making money within months, whereas for others, it may take more than a year.

It all depends on your marketing strategies and also your niche.

2. YOU DON’T LIKE TO WRITE

You have to write a lot as a blogger. The quality of your blog posts matters a lot, which means you’ll have to write each blog post more than 1,000 words.

That requires a lot of writing.

So, if you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy writing that much, there will be chances of you getting burnt out.

3. YOU DON’T PREFER WORKING ALONE

Some people prefer working with a team while others prefer working alone, as a solopreneur.

As a blogger, you have to do everything alone, all by yourself. So, if you’re not very fond of that, then I don’t recommend starting a blog.

Blogging is a long journey, keep this in mind.
